Miraculous Prayer
I remember how we prepared for and participated in trek up in Washington state a few years ago. Mom and I had been selected to be a ma and pa for this event, and we had a family of 6 or 7 children (young men and women). The whole experience was wonderful, and we had been planning this for months. We filled our Suburban with young men and women and headed south to our departure site. We decided to stop at a store on Whidbey Island for some refreshment. When we came back out to our car the Suburban wouldn't start. We were in a hurry and didn't want to be late because that could impact the departure of the whole stake. We had a number of youth with us that would be affected, and I remember that we were all sitting in the Suburban, and the ignition was just clicking. This was all before the influx of cell phones. Then someone suggested we say a prayer. I don't remember who was the voice. I imagine it could have been me, since Mom and I were the only adults, but I'm not sure. After the prayer, the vehicle started and ran fine all the way to our destination, so we arrived in time for departure. A small answer to prayer in the grand scheme of things, but at that moment in our lives, it was truly a miracle.
